Meet the Bastards at Big Bastard's

Big Bastard's Beach Bar sits on the Philipsburg Boardwalk at 49 Front Street, a one-minute walk from the passenger ferry dock, and it takes all the work out of a beach day. On Great Bay Beach you get a chair and umbrella, drinks and lunch brought straight to your spot, and WiFi all the way to the water. For the full experience, there's the VIP unlimited drinks package, so the only thing left to decide is which side of the chair gets the sun.

Behind it all are two Canadians, well known around the island, who describe their trademark as "exceptional sarcastic service." Expect a warm welcome, a good joke at your expense, and a cold drink in your hand before you know it.

There's news too: Big Bastard's is launching the Bastard's Solo Act, created for individual travellers who want to mingle with other solos, enjoy good vibes, music and games.

Not a beach person? The patio is a great alternative, with an extensive variety of beers, blended and frozen cocktails, and a full lunch menu. Try the signature Guava Berry Colada, made with local Guava Berry Rhum.

The beach is open to all ages, so families are welcome, and an accessible zone makes it easier for everyone to enjoy the water. The venue can also be booked privately, day or night, for birthdays and other celebrations.
