The St. Maarten Flavors program, meant to highlight St. Maarten’s culinary diversity during the month of November, has launched an online auction for those residents, visitors and companies that want to support the upcoming culinary month. This was announced by the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA).
Over fifteen companies, varying from hotels to tech stores and activity providers have contributed products that are up for bidding by the public at www.stmaartenflavors.com/items. Bidding starts at half the product’s market value, allowing great discounts on many St. Maarten products, hotel stays and excursions. Revenues of the auction will be used for launching a new culinary team of St. Maarten’s talents to the prestigious “Taste of the Caribbean” cooking competition in Miami.
In the month of November, St. Maarten Flavors program participants will showcase the great variety of culinary delights St. Maarten has to offer. Registered restaurants offer special deals from samplers to one course bites or cocktails for $17.50 to three course dining experiences at $49. The list of now 22 participating restaurants, as well as their locations and menus, can be found at http://www.stmaartenflavors.com/.
The first group of auction items contains a total value of over $10,000 worth of products. SHTA thanks supporters Alicia’s Inn, Aqua Mania Adventures, Belair Beach Hotel, Carl’s Unique Inn, Caribbean Liquors & Tobacco (CLT), Divi Little Bay Resort, Fitness Coaching by Desiree Winkel, Keijzer Computers, North South Net International (NSN), Sint Maarten Yacht Club, Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa, The Atrium, The Azure Hotel & Art Studio, TriSport and Zhaveri for their support of the program.
The auction remains open to any company wanting to share an item throughout the months of October as well as St. Maarten Flavors Month of November. Winners of all auction items will be assessed based on the highest bids in every round of the auction.
